Foundation manages the Dussmann Group

01/17/2011 – In future, the Dussmann Group will be managed by a foundation.
 

Following recognition by the senatorial judiciary department, the Peter Dussmann-Stiftung assumed the management of the Dussmann Group according to company law as from December 30, 2010. The creation of the Peter Dussmann-Stiftung precedes the renaming of the former Dussmann AG & Co. KGaA to Dussmann Stiftung & Co. KGaA. The foundation will not hold any group equity; sole ownership remains with the entrepreneur, Peter Dussmann.

The objective of the management foundation is to secure the long-term future of the Dussmann Group as Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann explained. This very im-portant step is the continuation of a concept framed and set in motion by her husband years before his illness. “I am pleased that the foundation will also enable us to support especially worthy projects and activities to promote art, culture, training and education. This has always been close to my husband’s heart and we want to carry on his work” continued Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann.

Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann chairs the foundation council of the Peter Dussmann-Stiftung. In addition to Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann, the council consists of the supervisory board of the former Dussmann Verwaltungs AG, Wolfgang Clement, Dr. Tessen von Heydebreck and Dr. Giuseppe Vita as well as two new mem-bers, Prof. Dr. Rainer Lorz, Peter Dussmann’s attorney, and the lawyer, Dr. Horst Schiessl. The primary purpose of the foundation council is to advise and supervise the executive board of the foundation.

The executive board of the former Dussmann Verwaltungs AG becomes the executive board of the foundation: Thomas Greiner (chairman), Dirk Brouwers (deputy chair), Jörg Braesecke, Axel Gränitz and Dr. Christiane Jaap. As to date, the executive board manages the business of the Dussmann Group.

The inclusion of the management foundation in the Dussmann Group does not affect its employees, the rights of its employee representative bodies or the supervisory board of the Dussmann Stiftung & Co. KGaA.
