Laying of the Foundation Stone for the Buchholz Kursana Residence

09/19/2007 – Residential nursing home in the "Northern Heath" with 120 places to open in the autumn of 2008
 

On September 19, 2007 the foundation stone was laid for the new Kursana Residence in Buchholz in the "Northern Heath". This facility for the care of the elderly is one of the 87 Kursana Residences - seven of which in the future will be in the state of Lower Saxony - in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Estonia. Kursana is a company within the Dussmann Group, which operates worldwide. The seniors' home is being con-structed by the firm HIBA Hamburger Immobilien & Bauträger AG from Hamburg.

The future residents will be moving into the new Kursana home from the autumn of 2008. They will find a building offering 120 places and a high ratio of single rooms, where all the demands of high-quality care and supervision will be met. The facility is located in a fully accessible residential area which provides opportunities for shopping and very good transport connections to the town centre.

On four floors there are 100 single rooms and 10 double rooms. Each room has a shower bath without any steps and with plenty of room to move. The ground floor, with its 27 beds, is conceived as a dementia ward and will be laid out accordingly. This also includes a specially designed dementia garden with outdoor seating areas and circular paths.

With around 50,000 employees in 26 countries, the Dussmann Group offers all services relating to buildings from a single source under the brand name of Dussmann Service: technical ser-vices, catering, security and reception services, cleaning services, commercial and energy management.
