Laying of the Foundation Stone for the Bruchköbel Kursana Residence

11/01/2007 – Residential nursing home with 113 places to open at the end of 2007
 

On Thursday, March 29, 2007 the foundation stone for the new Kursana Residence was laid in Bruchköbel. This facility for the care of senior citizens at 31 Bahnhofstrasse / 1a Hammersbacherstrasse is located in a residential area that is not far from the station and within walking distance of the town centre. It is one of the 80 Kursana Residences in Germany, Austria, Swit-zerland and Estonia. In the German state of Hesse, Kursana - a company within the Dussmann Group - already operates a residential nursing home in Künzell.

The construction in Bruchköbel is being carried out by the firm Konzept-BauZapf GmbH from Bayreuth. The total investment volume is €9.2 million.

The foundation stone for the new nursing home was laid by Michael Roth, Mayor of the town of Bruchköbel, Thomas Greiner, member of the Execu-tive Board of the Dussmann Group and Chairman of Kursana, as well as Bernd Werner, Managing Director of KonzeptBauZapf GmbH. The future residents will be moving into the Kursana home from the end of 2007. "The senior citizens will find a building offering 113 places, where all the de-mands of high-quality care and supervision will be met," explained Thomas Greiner. "With approximately 75 employees it will offer all forms of care under one roof, from light, long-term and respite care to the nursing of those requiring round-the-clock care," Greiner goes on.
On three floors there are 97 single rooms and 8 double rooms available. Each room has a shower bath without any steps and plenty of room to move. The ground floor, with 30 beds, is conceived as a dementia ward and will be laid out accordingly. This also includes a specially designed demen-tia garden with outdoor seating areas and circular paths. Seven inter-spersed short-term care places are also planned in these areas.
