Kursana Domicile Donzdorf: Opening of the Seniors’ Facilities on the Former Leuze Site
10/29/2007 – A New Home for 115 Seniors
On 3 May 2007, the Kursana Domicile Donzdorf opens after only one year of construction work. The facilities for seniors are located in the center of the development area on the Leuze site, near the old Donzdorf station and offer 115 places - 105 in large single rooms, 10 in double rooms. All rooms have roomy step-free bathrooms with showers. The four-storey building is completely barrier-free and offers a number conveniences to make residents feel safe and at home: a restaurant with its own kitchen, numerous lounges with terraces, a comfortable lobby, therapy rooms, a library, a kiosk, a hairdresser, a chapel, a laundry and gardens.
The Kursana Domicile Donzdorf is one of the 80 Kursana institutions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Estonia and provides a complete range of nursing and care. One main focus is nursing and care of dementia patients. The Kursana domicile therefore posses a protective station on the ground floor for up to 19 residents suffering from dementia. Two separate sections for special care and therapy and a garden in the courtyard ensure optimal care and nursing conditions.
"The institutions central location does not only allow the residents and their relatives to walk to the city hall or the palace gardens in a few minutes, the Kursana Domicile Donzdorf also contributes to the city's community and will invite its inhabitants to numerous events", Thomas Greiner, member of the Executive Board of the Dussmann Group encourages the people of Donzdorf to come and look at the institution. The best opportunity for this is on 20 May when there will be an open day in the Kursana domicile from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
