Kellertor Bridge Potsdam

Our company is also committed to the reconstruction of the Kellertor Bridge in Brandenburg’s capital city, Potsdam.

The Kellertor Bridge, which spanned the inner-city canal, was built from natural stone in 1756 according to drafts by Heinrich Ludwig Manger. Like other bridges on the canal, it was arched to allow boats to pass. Its balustrades consisted of several stone pedestals with a lantern at each end. In the 1960s, the bridge was destroyed and the canal was filled. In the last 15 years, an association, with the help of financial donations, has succeeded in uncovering the canal step by step.

The new bridge is to resemble the historical bridge but will be built from reinforced concrete.
