The Eule Organ in St. Marks Church, Dresden-Pieschen
The organ, which was built by Herrmann Eule from Bautzen in 1888, was in dire need of repair and barely functional. When it was partially restored in 1951, its acoustic pattern was altered substantially. It was therefore necessary to restore the organ to its original technical and acoustic condition. The Eule organ in St. Marks Church is one of the few remaining pneumatic cone chest organs, designed according to the acoustic principles of the late Romantic period.
Following the restoration of the church building, the organ was also restored with the help and support of corporate and private donors in 2006.
Today the organ not only accompanies church services but is also used by the students of the College of Church Music in Dresden and for a number of concerts.
